LABUAN — The Immigration Department of Malaysia, Federal Territory of Labuan, has detained ten foreign nationals during an integrated operation for failing to produce valid travel documents or passports.
According to Raymond Entalai, Director of the Labuan Immigration Department, the individuals are suspected of violating Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155).
“The operation, conducted on 8 November 2025 between 10:20 a.m. and 11:50 a.m., was led by KTPP Fatrick James together with 22 Immigration officers. It also involved several enforcement agencies including the National Registration Department (JPN), National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK), People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA), Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM),” he said.
He added that inspections were carried out at several premises around the Labuan town centre, involving 133 individuals, comprising 69 Malaysians and 64 foreigners.
Of the ten individuals detained, four were Filipino men, four Filipino women, one Filipino boy, and one Indonesian man.
“All detainees were taken to the Immigration Enforcement Division Office in Labuan for documentation and further investigation,” he said.
Raymond stressed that the Immigration Department would continue regular enforcement operations to detect, arrest, prosecute, and deport foreign nationals violating immigration laws under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Passport Act 1966.
“Strict action will also be taken under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 (ATIPSOM) against any individual or employer found to be hiring or protecting illegal immigrants (PATI),” he added.
