LABUAN — A total of 17 local students currently pursuing studies at public higher education institutions (IPTA) have received the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) Special Incentive Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The scholarship, totaling RM578,914.20, was presented during a ceremony held at the Al-Fateh Seminar Hall, MAIWP Labuan Branch.
MAIWP Labuan Branch Manager, Ustaz Mohd Rafie Zakaria, said the financial aid is designed to cover essential educational costs, including current tuition fees and accommodation at the respective institutions.
“The scholarship also includes living and book allowances, provided in accordance with the rates and requirements established by the Public Service Department (JPA),” he said.
The recipients were selected based on their academic excellence in the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM), Diploma, and Matriculation final examinations.
Also present at the ceremony was MAIWP Labuan Branch Deputy Manager (Operations), Ustaz Mohd Radzaleih Matusin.
