LEBANON — A congregational Funeral Prayer (Solat Jenazah Ghaib) was held at the Kawkaba Mosque, Ma’rakah Camp, southern Lebanon, in honour of three soldiers from the Indonesian Battalion (INDOBATT) who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The prayers were offered for Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar S.T. HAN, Sertu Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Kopda (Posthumous) Farizal Rhomadhon, who were killed following artillery fire and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blasts while carrying out their peacekeeping duties.

A spokesperson for the Malaysian Battalion (MALBATT) 850-13 said the ceremony, attended by its members, served as a final tribute and a symbol of solidarity among peacekeeping forces who share a common responsibility in upholding global peace.

“Their passing has been deeply felt and represents a profound loss to the entire UNIFIL community. We stand together in grief and in honour of their sacrifice,” the spokesperson said.

Prayers were offered in a solemn and sombre atmosphere for the souls of the fallen — that they be granted mercy, forgiven of all sins, and placed among the righteous. Their sacrifice in service of the peacekeeping mission, the spokesperson added, will be forever remembered and honoured.

“Their passing reminds us of the true meaning of sacrifice and the spirit of service. The dedication and commitment they demonstrated will continue to inspire all peacekeeping personnel to remain steadfast in fulfilling this noble duty. May their souls be placed among the martyrs. Al-Fatihah.”  — MALBATT 850-13 PIO Team
