MAIWP Labuan Honours Outstanding Students and Huffaz at MADANI Excellence and Inspiration Awards 2025

LABUAN – “No one can achieve success easily. We must run and climb, even if at times we stumble and fall. Continue to be the agent of change for your family to break free from the cycle of poverty. Through prayers and zakat contributors’ support, you can achieve success,” said Datuk Mohd Nizam Haji Yahya, Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP), during the MAIWP Labuan MADANI Excellence and Inspiration Awards 2025 ceremony held this evening.

A total of 28 recipients from the General School Assistance programme, seven students from MAIWP Religious Secondary Schools, and three residents of Darul Kifayah MAIWP Labuan Complex received awards under the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) category.

Meanwhile, 17 recipients of MAIWP’s General School Assistance who achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) between 3.0 and 3.84 in the Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examinations were also honoured.

The Best SPM Student 2024 Award went to Vaa Trisha Jaffri from St. Anne Secondary School, who is also a resident of the Darul Kifayah MAIWP Complex. The Best STPM Student 2024 Award was presented to Hisyam from SMK Labuan, who obtained a CGPA of 3.84.

The ceremony also featured the symbolic presentation of the MAIWP Al-Quran Memorization Incentive to five huffaz, representing a total of 28 huffaz, with a combined incentive value of RM57,800. The Best Huffaz 2025 Award was presented to Nursyafiqah Khairuddin for successfully memorizing all 30 juzuks of the Quran.

Mohd Nizam also presented mock cheques worth RM146,500 under the SSPN Prime Excellent Student Incentive to representatives of the recipients. In addition, the event saw the symbolic handover of MAIWP Laptop Assistance cheques worth RM252,714 to 77 university students from the Federal Territory of Labuan.

Among those present were Encik Awang Marten Haji Abd Rahman, Deputy Director of the Student Development Sector, Labuan Federal Territory Education Department; Ustaz Radzaleih Matusin, Deputy Manager of MAIWP Labuan; as well as department heads, agency representatives, zakat contributors, and community leaders.
