LABUAN — Two teachers from Labuan International School (LIS), Amalina Salim and Ainin Sofia Zakaria@Azrin, recently participated in a historic achievement at the Southeast Asia (SEA) Women’s XV Rugby Championship held at Padang Astaka, Petaling Jaya.

A spokesperson for LIS said the school was proud of the duo’s achievement.

“The national women’s rugby squad secured a commanding 78–0 victory against the Philippines team. This remarkable win earned Malaysia a significant 9.57-point gain in the World Rugby rankings, placing the team 42nd globally.

“Seeing our teachers compete at the national level and contribute to such an outstanding milestone is truly inspiring. Their strength, discipline, and commitment on the field reflect the same dedication they bring to our students every day,” said the spokesperson.
