LABUAN — More than RM3 million has been allocated this year for the implementation of the Home Building and Repair Assistance Scheme in Labuan under projects by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP).

The manager of MAIWP Labuan Branch, Mohd Rafie Zakaria, said the scheme is part of MAIWP’s ongoing commitment to supporting the community.

“We want to ensure the welfare of the asnaf (eligible zakat recipients) group is continuously safeguarded,” he said during a recent visit to monitor the status of completed projects as well as those still under construction or undergoing repairs.

The visit aimed to ensure that each project was implemented smoothly, met the specified requirements, and provided maximum benefit to the recipients.

Accompanying him were officers from the Property Management Development Unit (UPPH) and the Zakat Distribution Unit (UPA).
