KUALA LUMPUR — The Ministry of Education Malaysia has pledged full compliance with a royal decree issued by Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar to ensure the safety and well-being of students during the ongoing hot weather.
In a statement on March 27, the ministry expressed its highest appreciation for the concern shown by His Majesty, noting that the decree serves as a timely reminder for all educational institutions to prioritise safety measures.
The ministry said all schools under its administration have been instructed to take precautionary steps and strictly adhere to existing guidelines when dealing with extreme heat conditions.
These include close monitoring of outdoor activities and allowing flexibility for students, teachers and school staff to wear appropriate and comfortable sports attire during periods of high temperatures.
KPM emphasised that the measures are aimed at safeguarding the health and welfare of the entire school community as the country continues to experience hot weather conditions.
