KUALA LUMPUR — Five staff members from the Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) Library recently joined a UMS Library educational visit to several institutions in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
They were Azrie Sugianto, Malai Zaidee Bakar, Tinyhanizam Kula, Adih Masri and Sunarti Kahar.
The programme, known as LASBELA, involved visits to Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, the National Museum, the Planetarium and the National Science Centre.
The delegation was led by Senior Deputy Chief Librarian Anna Michael, Deputy Chief Librarian Muhammad Syafaruddin Mahali, and senior librarians Anita Arsad and Lorita Gadol, together with 30 participants.
The programme was aimed at exposing UMS staff to best practices and new experiences to strengthen and enhance their roles in the library field.
It also served as a form of appreciation for library staff for their service and contributions to UMS Library.
Participants expressed their gratitude to UMS Chief Librarian Haji Zawawi Datuk Tiyunin for the opportunity to take part in the programme.
They said the visit provided valuable knowledge and experience, and would remain a meaningful memory in the future.
