LABUAN — Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) and Maybank International Labuan Branch will jointly organise the Cahaya Kasih Maybank corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme on Sept 5 to provide guidance on higher education pathways and campus life for secondary school students.
The programme, to be held at UMSKAL, will involve 120 Form Four and Form Five students from eight secondary schools across Labuan.
Preparations for the programme were discussed during a courtesy visit by UMSKAL’s Student Affairs Division, led by its head Nur Iman Reedzal, to Maybank International Labuan Branch on July 28.
The delegation was received by the branch’s general manager, Nor Rashidi Mohammad, before holding discussions with Maybank representatives on the Cahaya Kasih Maybank CSR programme.
According to UMSKAL, the programme aims to strengthen strategic collaboration between the university and the corporate sector while exposing students to post-Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) education pathways and campus life.
Through experience-sharing sessions, interactive activities and campus tours, participants will gain insights into higher education opportunities, including matriculation, Form Six, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and teacher education programmes.
The initiative also seeks to instil positive values and strengthen students’ soft skills to better prepare them for life after secondary school.
UMSKAL said it hopes the collaboration will become a sustainable platform for producing confident, forward-looking and competitive young people ready to pursue higher education and future careers.
