LABUAN — Kolej Vokasional Labuan (KVL) today conducted a benchmarking visit to Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) to gain exposure to best practices in organisational innovation management.
The delegation, led by KVL Deputy Director (Academic) Awang Alik Saidil, comprised Head of Research and Innovation Department Dk. Rubiah P. Ibrahim and 17 lecturers.
UMSKAL director Prof Dr Shamsul Bahari Shamsudin chaired the Best Practices Benchmarking Visit on Organisational Innovation held at the Kiansam Seminar Room, Podium Building, UMSKAL.
Prof Dr Shamsul Bahari welcomed the delegation, expressing hope that the visit would further strengthen cooperation between the two institutions.
The programme also provided an avenue for both parties to share knowledge, experiences, best practices and innovative approaches aimed at enhancing organisational excellence.
Among those present were Administration and Human Resources Sector head Mas Adi Alimin; Faculty of International Finance Labuan (FKAL) deputy dean (Academic and International) Dr Ricky Chia Chee Jiun; Faculty of Computing and Informatics senior lecturer Associate Professor Dr Muzaffar Hamzah; and lecturers from the Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language Learning (PPIB).
The visit enabled KVL staff to gain first-hand exposure to innovation management practices and strategies for fostering an innovation-driven organisational culture.
The knowledge and experiences gained are expected to be translated into continuous improvements at KVL, while the programme also served as a platform for exchanging ideas, encouraging creativity and developing a more dynamic innovation ecosystem.
The KVL delegation also toured the UMSKAL campus and the Anak Bulan Observatory on Level 13 of the UMSKAL Tower.
UMSKAL said it hoped the strategic partnership with KVL would continue to grow and create more opportunities for collaboration in innovation, education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
