LABUAN — Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) Director Professor Dr Shamsul Bahari Shamsudin has urged staff of the Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language (PPIB) to work hard and sincerely in carrying out their entrusted responsibilities.
He said hard work was a relentless effort to achieve success, requiring discipline, time and patience every day.
“Hard work today is the most valuable investment to change our lives tomorrow,” he said while attending the Kupi-Kupi programme organised by PPIB at the Gapura Room, Level 6, Menara UMSKAL here today.
Shamsul Bahari said perseverance could help individuals achieve their life goals, build strong self-discipline, create a better future and reap meaningful results.
He also shared several motivational messages, including “Effort never betrays results”, “Failure is ordinary, rising again is extraordinary” and “Take action today”.
He said motivation was important in maintaining productivity and resilience, particularly when facing challenges and heavy workloads.
Among the motivational messages he shared were the importance of turning dreams into reality through action, continuously improving even through small changes, and taking the first step instead of waiting for motivation to come.
“Every morning is a new opportunity to create our own success.
“When things become difficult, remember that every drop of sweat has a result waiting for you,” he said.
Shamsul Bahari also stressed the importance of teamwork in achieving major objectives, saying a strong support system was essential for a team to remain resilient.
“We become strong not because we are good at everything, but because we complement each other’s shortcomings,” he said.
Also present were UMSKAL Head of Administration Sharifah Ismail and sector heads.
Meanwhile, PPIB Labuan International Campus Coordinator Dr Siti Halimah Putung said the programme was organised to strengthen ties among PPIB staff, sector heads and the UMSKAL management.
She also briefed those present on PPIB’s administration and introduced its staff and lecturers.
She said PPIB would continue supporting various programmes organised for the benefit of its lecturers and staff.
“PPIB always provides strong support for the organisation of various programmes that benefit PPIB lecturers and staff,” she said.
