KOTA KINABALU — Tuaran Sikh Sabha (Persatuan Sikh Tuaran) has donated pre-loved items and basic necessities to families affected by the Kampung Numbak fire through the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Relief Mission.
The aid was handed over at the foyer of the Centre for Promotion of Knowledge and Language Learning (PPIB), UMS, here yesterday.
Tuaran Sikh Sabha secretary Rakam Singh, representing its president Darshan Singh, led the delegation comprising assistant secretary Darwin Singh and committee member Sanjay Yap.
The contribution was received by UMS Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kasim Mansur together with PPIB dean Prof Datuk Dr Ismail Ali.
Rakam said the collection drive among members reflected the association’s spirit of solidarity and compassion towards those in need.
“This initiative demonstrates Tuaran Sikh Sabha’s care for the Sabah community, particularly the residents of Kampung Numbak during this difficult time.
“While modest, we hope this assistance offers comfort, warmth and encouragement for the affected families as they rebuild,” he said.
The contributions collected from association members included pre-loved clothing, second-hand items, basic medicines and dry food.
