KOTA KINABALU — Three men were injured after the Perodua Myvi they were travelling in collided with a Toyota Hilux at Jalan Lorong Iramanis Centre, Kolombong, Inanam, early today.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said it received a distress call at 3.39 am and dispatched 10 personnel from the Lintas Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) to the scene, about two kilometres away.
“Three male victims in the Perodua Myvi, aged 23, 35 and 38, sustained facial, head and hand injuries respectively and were extricated from the vehicle using special equipment,” it said in a statement.
The victims received initial treatment from the department’s Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital II by an EMRS vehicle and Health Ministry ambulance for further treatment.
The driver of the Toyota Hilux, an adult male, was uninjured.
The operation ended at 4.20 am after firefighters ensured the area was safe.
The operation was led by Fire Officer II Mohd Hanafiah, with assistance from two Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel and three Health Ministry personnel.
