LABUAN — Thirty-four master’s students from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) visited Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) here today to exchange academic knowledge and experiences.

The study visit was led by UTB School of Business Deputy Dean (Research), Senior Assistant Prof. Dr Fahmi Ibrahim, accompanied by two lecturers.

Dr Fahmi said the visit aimed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and academic experiences between the two higher education institutions, as well as encourage interaction and cultural exchange between UTB and UMSKAL students.

He said the programme also provided an opportunity for UTB to build networks and strengthen ties between students from both universities.

“Through this visit, UTB students were able to familiarise themselves with the academic environment and facilities at UMSKAL,” he said.

The delegation was received by UMSKAL director Prof Dr Shamsul Bahari Shamsudin, who expressed hope that more collaborative activities could be organised between the two institutions in the future.

The programme also included briefings by Labuan Faculty of International Finance (FKAL) Deputy Dean (Academic and International) Dr Ricky Chia Chee Jiun and Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FKI) Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and International) Dr Nooralisa Tuah.

The lecturers and students also visited Level 13, where they took in the panoramic view of Labuan, as well as the New Moon Observation Deck.

Five FKAL master’s students also participated in the programme.

The visit is expected to further strengthen academic and institutional ties between UMSKAL and UTB.
