Bank of Russia Issues Silver Coin Featuring Mirozhsky Monastery

MOSCOW — The Bank of Russia will issue a three-ruble silver commemorative coin featuring the Holy Transfiguration Mirozhsky Monastery in Pskov on Oct 7.

The coin is part of the “Architectural Monuments of Russia” series and carries catalogue number 5111-0541.

The Holy Transfiguration Mirozhsky Monastery in Pskov is one of Russia’s oldest religious complexes, with its main sanctuary, the Transfiguration Cathedral, renowned for its unique 12th-century frescoes.

The 3-ruble silver coin contains 31.1 grammes of fine metal with a fineness of 925/1,000. It is round, measures 39.0 millimetres in diameter and features a relief rim on both the obverse and reverse.

The obverse bears a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, along with the inscriptions “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) and “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination “3 РУБЛЯ” (3 RUBLES) and the year of issue “2026 г.” (2026).

It also carries the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, the coin’s fineness, the Saint Petersburg Mint trademark and its fine metal content.

The reverse features a relief image of the Holy Transfiguration Mirozhsky Monastery, set against trees and water reflections with laser-treated matte finishing.

The inscription “СПАСО-ПРЕОБРАЖЕНСКИЙ МИРОЖСКИЙ МУЖСКОЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ” (HOLY TRANSFIGURATION MIROZHSKY MONASTERY) runs around the circumference against an ornamented, laser-treated matte background, while “ПСКОВ” (PSKOV) appears at the bottom.

The coin has a corrugated edge and is minted in proof quality, with a mintage of 3,000 pieces.

The new coin is legal tender of the Russian Federation and must be accepted at face value for all types of payments without restrictions.
