Eight Injured In Three-Vehicle Crash In Papar

PAPAR — Eight men were injured, four of them seriously, in a three-vehicle accident at Jalan Andus here this morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) spokesperson said the accident, involving a Perodua Bezza, an Isuzu D-Max and a motorcycle, occurred at about 7.24 am.

“The accident happened when the driver of the Perodua Bezza was making a U-turn before colliding with the other two vehicles.

“Firefighters from the Papar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) extricated all eight victims from the vehicles,” said the spokesperson.

Four occupants of the Perodua Bezza, aged 15, 27, 36 and 48, and the 33-year-old motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries.

Three occupants of the Isuzu D-Max, aged 36, 39 and 50, suffered minor injuries.

The victims were taken to hospital for further treatment using the department’s Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle, as well as ambulances from the Civil Defence Force (APM) and Health Ministry (MOH).

The Papar Fire and Rescue Station received the emergency call through the NG999 system at 7.24 am, and arrived at the scene at 7.38 am, about 15 kilometres away.

The operation, involving 10 firefighters, was led by PBK I Dahlan Jainudin.

Personnel from the Health Ministry, APM and Royal Malaysia Police also assisted at the scene.
