RANAU — A landslide affected the veranda of Nikie Villa, an accommodation facility in Kampung Gorowot Sinisian, Kundasang, Ranau, on Tuesday afternoon, with no casualties reported.
The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the department received an emergency call through NG999 at 4.08 pm before dispatching a team from the Ranau Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.
“Our team arrived at 4.23 pm and confirmed that a landslide had occurred, affecting the veranda of the accommodation facility,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said that the department’s personnel would continue monitoring the affected area to ensure public safety and assess surrounding conditions.
The department also advised residents in the area to remain vigilant, particularly during rainfall.
Two firefighters and one vehicle were deployed in the operation, which was led by Senior Fire Officer I Becket Gumat, with the police also involved.
