LABUAN — The Labuan International Sea Sports Complex is set to become the epicentre of regional aquatic sports as the Labuan Cross Channel Swimming Challenge returns on May 3, 2026, together with the initiatives under Visit Malaysia 2026.
Organisers have announced a massive RM40,000 prize pool for the event, aimed at attracting top-tier swimmers from across the region while fostering local talent through expanded age categories.
The challenge is split into two primary distances to accommodate varying skill levels:
2.7KM Route: Open to Juniors (8–12 years) and Veterans (40–65 years).
5.4KM Route: Reserved for the Teen (13–19 years) and Open (20–39 years) categories.
Swimmers interested in taking part can register from March 16 to April 15, 2026. All registered participants will receive an official event kit, which includes:
- An exclusive event jersey.
- A high-visibility swim cap.
- A safety swim buoy.
Successful finishers will be awarded a Finisher Medal, while the Top 3 in each category will receive trophies. Cash prizes will be distributed among the Top 5 and Top 10 performers depending on the category.
All participants will be flagged off at 7am at Labuan International Sea Sports Complex on May 3, 2026.
The annual event is co-organised by the Federal Territories Department, Labuan Corporation, and Labuan Aquatic Association (PAL).
