Unscheduled Water Disruption Hits Labuan Due to Critical Tank Stabilization

LABUAN — Residents across several major zones in Labuan are facing unscheduled water disruptions and low water pressure following emergency repair works at Sungai Labu.

Labuan Water Supply Department (JBA Labuan) issued an official notice at 1pm today, stating that the disruption is a direct result of the stabilization process for water levels at the Bukit Besar Tank.

According to the department, while previous repair works at Sungai Labu have been completed, the system is currently in a recovery phase. Water supply is expected to return to normal in stages once the distribution system and tank levels are fully stabilized.





The disruption affects four primary water tank systems and several District Metered Areas (DMA). The comprehensive list of affected locations includes:

1. Pohon Batu Tank (DMA 56 & DMA 10)

  • Key Institutions: Masjid Al-Munawwar, SIB Pohon Batu, Klinik Desa Batu Manikar, TUDM Bukit Kubong, SMA MAIWP Labuan, SK Lubok Temiang, and Pusat Kokurikulum Negeri.
  • Residential and Commercial: Palm Beach Resort, Palm Villa Batu Manikar, Mayang Sari Sunset, Taman Manikar, Ganggarak Permai, and various “Simpang” roads in Pohon Batu and Batu Manikar.
  • Infrastructure: LSS Solar Farm Tanjung Kubong and Tanjung Aru areas.

2. Lajau Tank (DMA 09)

  • Key Institutions: Kolej Matrikulasi Labuan (Labuan Matriculation College), Masjid Kampung Ganggarak, and the Customs Housing Complex (Bukit Kuda).
  • Residential: Southsea Pearl Residences, Merinding Garden, Lazenda Villa 12, and Light Industrial Park Durian Tunjung.
  • Roads: Parts of Jalan Bukit Kuda, Jalan Pohon Batu, and Jalan OKK Daud.

3. Layangan Tank (DMA 07)

  • Key Locations: Labuan TM Satellite Earth Station, Perumahan Layangan, Layangan Fire Station (Balai Bomba), and Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Quran Sri Merinding.
  • Residential: Taman Seh Huat, Taman Lazenda Layangan Paddyville, and Blocks 3 through 9 of the Layangan housing area.

4. Bukit Kalam Area (DMA 55)

  • Key Institutions: SK Bukit Kalam, Jabatan Pertanian WP Labuan (Dept. of Agriculture), and Jabatan Pendidikan Labuan (Dept. of Education).
  • Residential: Lazenda Villa 6, Government Housing Complex Bukit Kuda, and various Simpang roads including Bunga Rafflesia and Telaga 9.
