LABUAN — The UMSKAL Student Volunteer Club (KESUWA-KAL), Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL), in collaboration with Labuan Hospital, recently organised the Drop for Hope: Blood Donation programme at UTC Labuan.

The programme was aimed at helping replenish blood supply for patients at Labuan Hospital, while raising public awareness on the importance of blood donation.

It was led by Mohamad Yusof from Labuan Hospital, with programme director Ezra Saibin and KESUWA-KAL president Deva Nair also playing key roles in the initiative.

Throughout the programme, donors underwent health screening before donating blood under the supervision of medical personnel.

More than 60 participants from the local community took part in the programme, which also received support from UMSKAL students.

The initiative not only contributed to the hospital’s blood supply, but also strengthened the spirit of volunteerism and strategic cooperation between the university, hospital and local community.

The closing ceremony also saw the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Labuan Hospital in recognition of its support and cooperation in making the programme a success.
