Twin Sisters Win Bronze Medals on International Debut at 2026 SEAKF Championships

NINH BINH, Vietnam — Twin sisters Nur Ariesya Dayana Asmadie and Nur Aleesya Dayana Asmadie made an impressive international debut by winning a bronze medal each for Malaysia at the 13th South East Asian Karate Federation (SEAKF) Championships 2026, held here from July 6 to 13.

Nur Ariesya Dayana secured bronze in the Female Cadet Individual Kumite Under-47kg category for athletes aged 14 to 15, while Nur Aleesya Dayana earned another bronze in the Female Cadet Individual Kumite Under-54kg category.

Diya Khalish Kasryanto also contributed a bronze medal in the Female Junior Individual Kumite Under-66kg category for athletes aged 16 to 17.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Aiqal Asmadie won bronze in the Male Team Kata event alongside his teammates.

Another Malaysian representative, Nur Aneesa Aira Mohamad Affendi, finished fifth after delivering a commendable performance at the regional championship.

The team was accompanied by Sensei Syarulniza Abdul Jamil, who served as a coach for the Malaysian Universities Sports Council (MASUM). She also guided the MASUM team competing in the championship.

The achievements highlighted the potential of Malaysia’s young karate athletes and provided further encouragement towards developing more karateka capable of representing the country at the international level.

USK Karate Team president Renshi Aswadee Taba was also present.
