LABUAN — A total of 102 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2026 candidates from SMK Taman Perumahan Bedaun participated in the school’s four-day Sekolah Bitara SPM 2026: Selangkah ke Menara Gading programme aimed at strengthening their academic performance and examination readiness.
The programme, held from July 13 to 16 at Dewan Sri Timbalai, Labuan Correctional Centre, featured examination-answering workshops, motivational sessions and guidance on preparing for the national examination.
The school has organised the programme for three consecutive years to expose students to effective techniques for answering actual SPM-format questions.
The workshops covered Bahasa Melayu, History, English, Mathematics, Islamic Education, Moral Education, Science and Chemistry.
The programme was also designed to build students’ confidence and instil positive attitudes, perseverance, teamwork and commitment to their studies.
It aimed to help candidates achieve better results in the upcoming SPM examination while improving the school’s overall performance and rating under the School Quality Standard.
Throughout the programme, invited speakers shared practical answering techniques to help students understand examination requirements, provide relevant answers and obtain marks based on the marking scheme.
Certificates of appreciation and gift hampers were also presented to the most active participants in each workshop.
The school’s Guidance and Counselling Unit also organised a motivational session conducted by Management and Science University Kota Kinabalu speaker Suif Sainan.
The session encouraged the candidates to recognise available educational opportunities and take the necessary steps towards achieving future success.
School principal Norazita Md Nor @ Shamsuri delivered the welcoming address at the programme’s closing ceremony, which was officiated by Labuan Education Department director Yahya Ahmad Puteh.
“The programme would help the candidates improve their performance and prepare more effectively for the examination,” said Yahya.
The school will continue supporting the SPM 2026 candidates through further academic and motivational initiatives following the conclusion of the programme.
Also present were Labuan Correctional Centre director’s representative Sergeant Major Lensun, school liaison officers Angela Joseph and Azeryn Mamma, and senior assistant for administration Chai Yee San.
