LABUAN — Six staff members from the Development and Maintenance Sector of Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) successfully completed a series of short technical courses held in conjunction with the 2026 National Training Week (NTW), organised by ADTEC JTM Labuan Campus from July 20 to 24.
The participants attended courses aligned with their respective areas of expertise and job responsibilities, covering electrical wiring, valve servicing, floor tile installation, domestic distribution board systems, motor control, hot tapping installation for 100mm main pipes, and electro-pneumatics through an online webinar.
An UMSKAL spokesperson said the training was designed to enhance technical knowledge, strengthen practical skills and expose participants to safer, more systematic work practices that comply with industry standards.
“The programme reflects our commitment to empowering human capital through lifelong learning while equipping our maintenance personnel with the latest technical knowledge and practical skills to better serve the university community,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the combination of theoretical and hands-on training enabled participants to operate relevant equipment and learn the latest maintenance techniques that can be directly applied in carrying out maintenance work on campus.
“The knowledge and competencies acquired through these courses are expected to improve the efficiency of maintenance operations and contribute to higher-quality service delivery for the benefit of the university community,” the spokesperson added.
UMSKAL also expressed its appreciation to ADTEC JTM Labuan Campus for organising the programme and hoped similar training initiatives would continue in the future to produce a more competent, highly skilled and competitive workforce.
The participants were Mohd Azibulah Ollah, Mohd Azmie Helmi Jaffar, Rayme Musa, Mohd Ali Kassim, Ramzie Aidil Ramlan and Aris @ Harris Ariffin.
