LABUAN — The inaugural Labuan Federal Territory Enforcement Agencies Cup Football Carnival kicked off on Friday, bringing together 12 teams from various uniformed departments and enforcement agencies to strengthen inter-agency cooperation through sports.
The carnival was officially launched by Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) director Prof Dr Shamsul Bahari Shamsudin.
Also present were UMSKAL Security Sector chief ASP/PB Rakam Singh Karam Singh, who organised the programme, and Sports and Recreation Sector chief Rozeyatie Ibrahim, whose team collaborated in organising the event.
The tournament features 12 teams representing various uniformed departments and enforcement agencies in the Federal Territory of Labuan.
According to the organisers, the inaugural tournament aims to foster closer ties and strengthen strategic collaboration between UMSKAL’s Security Sector and uniformed as well as civil law enforcement agencies in Labuan through sports.
The tournament offers a total prize pool of RM8,000. The champions will receive RM3,000 in cash and the Enforcement Agencies Challenge Trophy, while the runners-up will take home RM2,000. The third and joint fourth-placed teams will each receive RM1,000.
The organisers expressed hope that the carnival would become an annual event to further enhance strategic cooperation among enforcement agencies in Labuan while promoting a healthy lifestyle and unity among participants.
