LABUAN — Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) recently explored a strategic collaboration with Laman Wanita (LaWa) Labuan to organise programmes aimed at enhancing student development and promoting awareness on social issues.
The initiative was discussed during a courtesy visit by a delegation from UMSKAL’s Student Affairs Division, led by its head, Nur Iman Reedzal, together with division staff, to LaWa Labuan, which operates under the Federal Territories Women’s Development Office.
The delegation was received by LaWa Labuan supervisor Salhah Matnor.
During the meeting, both parties explored opportunities to jointly organise talks and activities for university students on contemporary issues, including sexual harassment, mental health, violence against women and character development.
The visit also included a tour of LaWa’s facilities and discussions on long-term plans to implement collaborative programmes in the future.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen strategic ties between UMSKAL and the Federal Territories Women’s Development Office while benefiting the campus community and the wider public through initiatives that promote health literacy and women’s well-being.
