LABUAN — The Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) Auxiliary Police (PB UMS) made history by emerging as the inaugural champions of the 2026 Labuan Federal Territory Enforcement Agencies Football Carnival after defeating the Labuan Airport Auxiliary Police (PB Airport) in the final held at the UMSKAL football field on August 1.
The victory earned PB UMS RM3,000 in prize money, the challenge trophy, a championship trophy and gold medals as winners of the inaugural edition of the tournament.
PB Airport finished runners-up, receiving RM2,000 in prize money and silver medals in recognition of their performance throughout the competition.
The third-place honours were jointly shared by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) and the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), with each team receiving RM1,000 and bronze medals.
The prizes were presented by UMS Security Division acting director ASP/PB Massalinri Mohd Tahir, accompanied by ASP/PB Rakam Singh Karam Singh.
Organised by the UMSKAL Security Sector in collaboration with the UMSKAL Sports and Recreation Sector, the carnival featured 12 teams representing enforcement and security agencies in the Federal Territory of Labuan.
Participating teams included the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Road Transport Department (JPJ), Royal Malaysia Police (which fielded two teams), Malaysian Immigration Department, Asian Supply Base Auxiliary Police, UMS Auxiliary Police and Labuan Airport Auxiliary Police.
The final was witnessed by UMSKAL director Prof Dr Shamsul Bahari Shamsudin, acting UMS Security Division director ASP/PB Massalinri Mohd Tahir and UMSKAL Security Sector head ASP/PB Rakam Singh Karam Singh.
The carnival was held to strengthen ties among enforcement agencies, promote sportsmanship and enhance strategic cooperation through sports.
Tournament organising chairman ASP/PB Rakam Singh expressed appreciation to all participating agencies and departments for their commitment and support. He said he hoped the carnival would continue in the future as a platform to foster stronger professional relationships, teamwork and cooperation among enforcement agencies in safeguarding public safety and community well-being.
