LABUAN — Two Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) students shared their experiences, knowledge and skills gained during their six-month industrial training at the Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) Library.
Nur Zulwaqa Julkiah and Noor Alisha Norlisam, who are pursuing their studies at UiTM Puncak Perdana, Selangor, shared their experiences at the UMSKAL Library’s Industrial Training Student Presentation and Intern Appreciation Ceremony here on Aug 13.
The session provided an opportunity for both students to share their assignments, activities and learning outcomes, as well as their experience working in the real-world environment of an academic library.
During their industrial training from March 9 to Aug 21, the students were exposed to various aspects of library management and services while enhancing their communication, teamwork, time management, problem-solving and professional skills.
The appreciation ceremony was also held to recognise their commitment, cooperation and contributions throughout their industrial training at the UMSKAL Library.
UMSKAL Library Head Rosnitah Gumpar expressed hope that the experience, knowledge and skills gained by the students would benefit them in their studies, future careers and personal development.
She also hoped the industrial training programme would continue to serve as a meaningful platform for students to gain exposure to the realities of the working environment.
“Congratulations to all the practical training students who have successfully completed their industrial training at the UMSKAL Library.
“Thank you for all the contributions, commitment and memories shared with the UMSKAL Library staff,” she said.
Also present were Head of the Residents’ Treatment Clinic Sector (KRW) Dr Roy Martin Daya, Security Sector Head ASP/PB Rakam Singh a/l Karam Singh, and Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FKI) Dean’s representative Mohd Fadzli Sarudi.
