CYBERJAYA — DXN Holdings Bhd yesterday announced its partnership with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) as the strategic partner for Agrovator@Sekolah, aimed at empowering the next generation of agricultural leaders.
The national initiative, led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) and implemented by MDEC, will equip at least 1,000 students from 50 schools nationwide with modern technology, digital solutions and practical innovation skills to help transform Malaysia’s agriculture sector.
Under the partnership, DXN will support the programme through funding and in-kind contributions, with DXN Cyberville in Cyberjaya serving as the central venue for the semi-final and final stages of Agrovator@Sekolah.
About 85 students have been selected for the semi-final and final stages, which will run for 19 days, with DXN’s Cyberjaya premises serving as a key learning hub throughout the programme.
The students will be accommodated at DXN Cyberville’s accommodation suites and have access to its Grand Ballroom, Conference Hall and meeting and function rooms, as well as wellness and recreational facilities including a swimming pool, gymnasium and cafeteria.
The collaboration will provide the students with hands-on exposure to how technology and innovation can be applied to real-world agricultural challenges, while facilitating engagement between DXN and the next generation of young innovators.
MDEC Chief Executive Officer Anuar Fariz Fadzil said Agrovator@Sekolah demonstrated the value of public-private collaboration in equipping young Malaysians with the skills and confidence to apply digital and emerging technologies to real-world agricultural challenges.
“Through this partnership with DXN, MDEC aims to nurture a new generation of digitally capable innovators who can contribute to a more productive, sustainable and resilient agriculture sector.
“By developing a future-ready talent pipeline from an early age, this initiative will support Malaysia’s ambition to become an AI Nation by 2030, while strengthening national food security and advancing the digital economy,” he said.
DXN Group Chief Executive Officer Prajith Pavithran said the partnership was a natural extension of the company’s involvement in education, healthcare and community development initiatives nationwide.
“DXN has always believed that a company’s success is inseparable from the wellbeing of the communities and the nation it operates in.
“We are proud to open our doors to these students and to play a part in shaping the innovators who will help drive Malaysia’s digital and agricultural future,” he said.
Meanwhile, DXN Group Chief Operating Officer Mahmood Hisham said the company had seen the impact of targeted support through its education initiatives, including a co-teaching English confidence programme conducted with Northern Illinois University through Jemaah Pengurusan Sekolah Maahad Imtiyaz in Selangor.
He said the experience reinforced DXN’s belief that students should be equipped with the tools and confidence needed to compete on the global stage.
“Partnering with MDEC on Agrovator@Sekolah lets us bring that same belief into agriculture and technology, sectors that are central to Malaysia’s future growth,” he said.
DXN said its community investment initiatives also include support for Yayasan Prihatin Nasional, education and healthcare development at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), human capital and socioeconomic development programmes in Kedah, and the MyGrocer@Wilayah food access initiative.
In Kedah, the company has supported programmes including Program Tuisyen Rakyat Kedah Sejahtera, Program Bakti Siswa Perdana Negeri Kedah and Program Latihan dan Persijilan Profesional Digital dan Teknologi Kedah (PRODITEK).
The company said these initiatives complement its wider support for schools, higher education institutions and community programmes involving health and welfare, as well as youth and sports development nationwide. —Bernama
