PUTATAN — A non-permanent house in Kampung Contoh Petagas here was completely destroyed in an early morning fire today.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said it received an emergency call at 4.56 am before a team from the Putatan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) arrived at the scene at 5.04 am, about four kilometres away.
“The fire involved a non-permanent house measuring approximately 30 by 20 feet, which was 100 per cent destroyed,” the department said in a statement today.
The firefighters used one 200-foot hose with two nozzles supplied by the fire engine to put out the blaze.
No casualties were reported, and the operation was brought under control at 5.10 am before being fully concluded at 6.38 am after the site was deemed safe.
A total of 10 firefighters from BBP Putatan and BBP Kota Kinabalu were involved in the operation, assisted by three personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
