KOTA BELUD — A house in Jalan Kuala Abai, Kampung Sembirai here was completely destroyed in a fire last night.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said it received an emergency call at 7.45 pm and dispatched seven personnel from the Kota Belud Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) to the scene, about four kilometres away.
“The team arrived at 7.49 pm and found a permanent house measuring approximately 60 by 40 feet fully engulfed in flames.
“The fire was brought under control at 8.10 pm, with no injuries or fatalities reported,” it said in a statement.
The operation ended at 9.20 pm after firefighters ensured that there were no further hazards at the scene.
Three personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and two from Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) also assisted in the operation.
The operation was led by PBK I Hasmaddy Agum.
