PENANG — KYZEN, a global provider of precision cleaning solutions for the electronics and advanced manufacturing industries, today officially opened its new facility in Penang, strengthening its operations and long-term commitment to Malaysia after more than 16 years in the state.

The new facility represents a significant investment by the company and is expected to enhance its production capacity, technical support and ability to serve customers in Malaysia and across the Asia-Pacific region.

The expanded facility is designed to improve product delivery, strengthen technical support services and incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies and sustainable operating practices.

Key highlights include expanded production and operational capabilities, enhanced support for the semiconductor, electronics, automotive, medical device and industrial manufacturing sectors, advanced technology-driven manufacturing processes, and sustainable operations.

The investment reflects KYZEN’s confidence in Malaysia’s industrial ecosystem, skilled workforce, strategic location and conducive investment environment.

According to MIDA, Malaysia’s manufacturing sector secured RM51.3 billion in approved investments involving 973 projects in the first half of 2026.

MIDA continues to support investors such as KYZEN throughout their investment journey by facilitating project implementation and expansion, while strengthening linkages with Malaysia’s broader industrial ecosystem.

The agency remains focused on attracting and supporting quality investments that contribute to technological advancement, high-skilled employment and stronger domestic capabilities.

Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Sim Tze Tzin said KYZEN’s expansion in Penang demonstrated the company’s commitment to innovation, talent and the future of advanced manufacturing.

“KYZEN’s expansion in Penang is more than an investment in facilities. It is a commitment to innovation, people, and the future of advanced manufacturing.

“By bringing world-class cleaning technologies and technical expertise closer to its customers in Southeast Asia, KYZEN is strengthening the region’s manufacturing ecosystem while creating valuable opportunities for local talent and industry collaboration,” he said.

MIDA Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid said KYZEN’s continued expansion after more than 16 years in Penang reflected the confidence established investors continued to place in Malaysia’s manufacturing ecosystem.

“More importantly, investments such as this support the continued growth of our semiconductor, electronics and advanced manufacturing industries.

“This is aligned with the New Industrial Master Plan 2030, which seeks to strengthen Malaysia’s industrial capabilities, deepen domestic linkages, and encourage greater technological advancement,” he said.

He said MIDA would continue working closely with KYZEN and its partners to facilitate the company’s growth in Malaysia, while strengthening industry linkages and creating quality opportunities for Malaysian businesses and talent.

KYZEN President and Chief Operating Officer R. Erik Miller said the new facility marked a significant milestone for the company in Malaysia.

“We are extremely proud of this new facility, which enables us to better serve our customers across the region while creating quality employment opportunities and supporting the development of advanced manufacturing capabilities in Malaysia.

“We are thrilled to continue offering our industry-leading chemistries and lab services from this improved space,” he said.

Miller also commended KYZEN’s team in Penang for its dedication in serving customers in Southeast Asia throughout the move and transition to the new facility.

Since establishing its presence in Malaysia more than 16 years ago, KYZEN has continued to invest in expanding its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the electronics and advanced manufacturing industries.

The new facility is expected to support regional growth, enhance supply chain resilience and deliver innovative solutions to customers across the Asia-Pacific region.

Beyond its economic contribution, KYZEN also remains committed to fostering innovation, technology transfer and talent development in Malaysia through collaboration with industry stakeholders, educational institutions and government agencies.

The initiatives are aimed at supporting the development of future-ready skills and strengthening Malaysia’s competitiveness in advanced manufacturing.
