LABUAN — Enforcement officers from the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) Labuan branch seized an estimated 2,100 litres of diesel during a raid on an unregistered storage facility in Kampung Lajau at noon today.

The raid, conducted under the ongoing Ops Tiris 4.0 (Bersepadu), led to the discovery of three Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) tanks filled with a liquid believed to be diesel fuel.

Labuan KPDN Director Junaidah Arbain stated that the premises owner, a 62-year-old local man, failed to produce a Scheduled Controlled Goods Permit or any written authorization from the Malaysian Controller of Supplies to possess or store the fuel.

“Following the inspection, all related items were seized for further investigation under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 [Act 122]. The total value of the seizure is estimated at RM12,600,” she said in a statement today.

Junaidah emphasized that Ops Tiris 4.0 (Bersepadu) reflects the government’s continuous commitment to combatting the misappropriation of controlled items and subsidy leakage, which can jeopardize national interests. She warned that KPDN Labuan will not compromise with any parties involved in the unauthorized storage, transfer, or smuggling of controlled goods.

Under Act 122, individuals found guilty can be fined up to RM1 million for the first offence, up to RM3 million for subsequent offences, or face imprisonment, or both. For corporate entities, companies can be fined up to RM2 million for the first offence and up to RM5 million for subsequent offences.

Junaidah added that KPDN Labuan will continue to intensify Ops Tiris 4.0 (Bersepadu) in collaboration with relevant enforcement agencies to comprehensively curb subsidy leakage.

She also urged the public to report any suspicious activities involving controlled and subsidized goods through official KPDN channels to enable immediate enforcement action.
