LABUAN — Two houses were partially destroyed in a fire at Simpang Haji Kudus, Kampung Pantai, here this evening.
The Labuan Fire and Rescue Department said it received an emergency call regarding the incident at 7.10 pm before dispatching a team from the Labuan Sentral Fire and Rescue Station to the location, about six kilometres away.
Operations commander PBK II Sollehudin Sanap said the fire involved two concrete-structured houses.
“The fire destroyed about 50 per cent of the houses. There were three individuals in the houses during the incident, but all of them were safe,” he said in a statement.
The operation was brought under control at 7.25 pm and fully concluded at 7.58 pm after overhaul works and safety inspections confirmed there were no further hazards at the scene.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
