LABUAN — Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) had recently engaged its students in anti-corruption and integrity training through a programme of ‘Explorace Jejak Antirasuah 2026’ held at the campus.
The interactive educational initiative aimed to instill the core values of trustworthiness, responsibility, and good governance, aligning with UMSKAL’s broader mission to produce highly ethical and competitive, holistic graduates.
Organized by the Center for Knowledge Promotion and Language Learning (PPIB) in collaboration with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Labuan Federal Territory Branch, the event served as a major highlight of the campus’s 2026 Synergy of Knowledge Carnival.
UMSKAL Director, Professor Dr. Shamsul Bahari Shamsudin, stated that university students represent the future leaders and workforce of the country.
“The instillation of values such as trustworthiness, integrity, and responsibility needs to be nurtured from the university level so that we can produce an ethical generation free from the culture of corruption,” Dr. Shamsul Bahari said during the closing ceremony at the UMSKAL Tower Building.

He noted that the program’s central theme, “Keep Malaysia Clean,” directly supports the national Malaysia MADANI aspirations, which emphasize societal well-being and strong institutional accountability.
The carnival itself combined two compulsory university modules: the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Course (KIAR) and the Philosophy and Current Issues Course (FIS). Through a series of poster presentations and a six-station experiential learning race, students were challenged to solve problems that required communication, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Dr. Shamsul Bahari expressed his gratitude to the organizers, lecturers, and the MACC’s Community Education (PENMAS) Unit, as well as the UMSKAL Residential College Student Welfare Committee (JAKMAS) for their strategic cooperation.
The closing ceremony was also attended by Labuan MACC Task Force Unit Chief Sendri Anak Ugi (representing Labuan MACC Director PPj Muhammat Azis Malmod), UMSKAL PPIB Coordinator Dr. Siti Halimah Putung, and Carnival Director Dr. Norcikeyonn Samuni.
Also present were Labuan MACC PENMAS Unit Chief Norsyazana Kamin, PENMAS Senior Assistant Commissioner Nani Tambagas, Residential College Administration Division Head Nohanizah Adnan, and Administration and Human Resources Sector Head Mas Adi Alimin.
