UMSKAL Hosts ‘Serambi Aidiladha’ Programme To Foster Campus-Community Ties

LABUAN — Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) successfully hosted its ‘Serambi Aidiladha 1447H/2026M’ programme yesterday at the Al-Hikmah Mosque compound, drawing active participation from both the campus community and local residents.

The event, which ran from 7.30 am to 4 pm, aimed to enliven Islamic teachings, foster teamwork, and strengthen ties between the university community and local folk.

The morning commenced with the Aidiladha sunnat prayers led by Muhd Akhmal Danial Askandar Myirza, while Mohd Iskandar Rizilianshah Rizman served as the bilal. Both are young imams of the UMSKAL Al-Hikmah Mosque.

Following the prayers, the sacrificial ritual (ibadah korban) involving a cow and a goat was performed by Ustaz Alfaiz Darsono and Ustaz Mohd Khairul Isham Abd Latiff.

The event also featured a gotong-royong (communal) cooking session, a feast, and the distribution of the sacrificial meat to attendees and the local community.

Also present were UMSKAL Al-Hikmah Mosque chairman Dr Mohamad Azmi Abdullah, Labuan International Finance Faculty administration chief Zamri Mohammad Tuah, lecturers, staff, and students.
