SMK Pantai Dominates 2026 MSSWPL Golf Championship

LABUAN — SMK Pantai emerged as the overall dominant force at the 2026 Labuan Schools Sports Council (MSSWPL) Golf Championship, which concluded at the Labuan International Golf Club (LIGC) recently.

The school swept the pole positions in the Under-15 individual categories, with Muhammad Zuhayr Mohd Sharif and Nur Jahyezah Aznan clinching the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively.

SMK Pantai also secured second-place finishes in the Under-18 categories through Muhammad Airil Zaky Haris (boys) and Nur Ayu Aleysa Mohd Aizam (girls).

In the team events, SMK Pantai continued its stellar run by capturing the overall boys’ and girls’ Under-15 championship titles, alongside finishing as runners-up in both the boys’ and girls’ Under-18 categories.

SMK Pantai principal Ismail Abdullah extended his congratulations to the players for bringing glory to the school and expressed hope that these talented golfers would successfully represent the Federal Territory of Labuan at the upcoming Malaysian Schools Sports Council (MSSM) championship.

“Prove your capabilities at the MSSM level or other future tournaments. My gratitude goes out to the coaches and parents who have steadfastly supported SMK Pantai’s programmes,” he said.




In the Under-18 individual divisions, SM St Anthony’s Amirul Hishamudin Roslan carded the top spot for the boys’ category, while Nur Farisya Syazwani Mohd Shafie of SMK Mutiara claimed the girls’ title.

The Under-12 categories saw Muhammad Syamiel Mohammad Syamsuri from SK Kerupang and Raisha Amani Rujilah from SK Rancha-Rancha emerging victorious in the boys’ and girls’ events respectively.

A total of 28 players participated in this year’s championship, which was organized by SM St Anne.

MSSWPL Golf Technical Chairman Samsul Mandisin thanked all participating schools, noting that the tournament serves as a crucial platform to unearth fresh talent and select players to represent Labuan on the national stage.

“The players demonstrated a high level of competitive spirit, which greatly aids our mission to nurture more young prospects for the future,” Samsul added.

The closing and prize-giving ceremony was officiated by the Head of the Student Talent Development Sector at the Labuan Education Department, Mohd Fadzli Sheikh Abdul Rahim.
