KUNDASANG — A total of 120 educators and education officers from Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan participated in a three-day nationhood course aimed at reinforcing their understanding of integrity, nationhood concepts, and the appreciation of Malaysia MADANI values.

The Ministry of Education’s 2026 Pena Naratif Madani (PENA MADANI) Nationhood Course for the Sabah and Labuan zones, held from June 9 to 11 at the National Training Centre here, involved 97 participants from Sabah and 23 from Labuan.

Organised by the Komuniti Pendidik Madani, the programme was a collaborative effort with Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia, and the unit of Education Ministry’s Integrity and the Teacher Professionalism Division.

Throughout the course, participants were exposed to comprehensive modules, including the Realities and Challenges of the Nation, the Malaysia Education Plan, the Threat of Information Manipulation, and Teacher Integrity as Architects.

To adapt to modern technological advancements, the educators were also trained in the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Writing, one-minute narrative video production, and practical creative writing, alongside a dedicated sharing session with DBP.

These knowledge-sharing sessions and personality development activities were designed to increase awareness of the crucial role educators play as agents of national unity and builders of future generations.

It is hoped that the programme will produce a broader cohort of educators capable of effectively delivering nationhood narratives, serving as catalysts to strengthen patriotism, unity, and MADANI values within the teaching fraternity.
