LABUAN — The Spiritual Unit of Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) MAIWP Labuan organised the MADANI Gen Z Aspiration Programme yesterday to cultivate a younger generation that is morally upright, knowledgeable, competitive, and driven by the spirit of hijrah (migration) towards personal excellence.
Held in conjunction with the Awal Muharram 1448H celebration, the programme successfully gathered the school community at the Darul Kifayah Complex Hall here to strengthen students’ core identity and encourage the internalisation of Islamic values in their daily lives.
Officiated by SMA MAIWP Labuan Senior Assistant (Student Affairs) Ustaz Shaiful Amri, the two-hour programme featured a key sharing session titled ‘MADANI Gen Z Aspirations’. The session emphasised the vital role of the youth as the nation’s future leaders while exposing participants to the importance of building integrity, responsibility, and resilience to face an increasingly complex world.
The event was further enlivened with an Awal Muharram Quiz, which tested participants’ knowledge of the history of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) hijrah. It also included a segment on Maal Hijrah figures, aimed at inspiring students to emulate individuals who have contributed significantly to the religion, race, and nation.
The encouraging response from the participants demonstrated the school community’s earnestness in supporting efforts to build excellent character and personality, in line with the Malaysia MADANI aspirations.
The organisation of this programme is closely aligned with the Human Capital Development core of the Malaysia MADANI Plan, which aims to produce a generation that is faithful, knowledgeable, moral, and resilient.
It is hoped that such programmes will continue to ignite the spirit of hijrah among the school community, resonating perfectly with the theme ‘Hijrah Diri, Mencorak Masa Depan, Membina Ummah Menuju MADANI’ (Self-Migration, Shaping the Future, Building the Ummah Towards MADANI).
Also present at the event was the programme coordinator, Ustazah Nur Sabrina.
