PAPAR — Two houses were damaged in a fire at Kampung Kuala Dalam here this evening, according to the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department.
The department said it received an emergency call via NG999 at 5.19 pm before a team of eight firefighters from the Papar Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene, about six kilometres away.
“The team arrived at 5.27 pm and brought the fire under control at 5.35 pm. The operation ended at 7.12 pm,” it said in a statement.
The fire involved a non-permanent house measuring 30 by 20 feet, which was completely destroyed, while a semi-permanent house measuring 30 by 35 feet was 50 per cent damaged.
No casualties were reported. The operation was led by PBK II Hamdani Harith, with assistance from the police and Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd.
