LABUAN — The Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus Student Volunteer Club (KESUWA UMSKAL) received the Special Recognition Award under the student body category at the 27th Universiti Malaysia Sabah Student Affairs and Alumni Awards Ceremony (MAHEPA) 2026.
The award was presented by UMS Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kasim Haji Mansor during the ceremony held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu on Saturday.
The MAHEPA UMS 2026 ceremony was officiated by Sabah Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk James Ratib.
Also present was UMS Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof Dr Raman Noordin.
The recognition was given in appreciation of the club members’ strong commitment and continuous efforts in organising various volunteerism programmes and student activities throughout the year.
UMSKAL Student Volunteer Club coordinator Noreffaizza Jali said the award was the result of the collective efforts of all club members who remained active and dedicated in carrying out their responsibilities.
She said the recognition would serve as a morale booster for club members to continue contributing towards holistic and skilled student development.
Meanwhile, UMSKAL Student Volunteer Club president for the 2024/2025 session, Luke Alex, described the achievement as a meaningful success that reflected the dedication and teamwork among club members.
“The award further strengthens UMSKAL’s role as a key platform in nurturing the spirit of volunteerism and leadership among Universiti Malaysia Sabah students,” he said.
