UMSKAL Lecturers Attend Town Hall On Research, Innovation

LABUAN — Lecturers from the Labuan Faculty of International Finance (FKAL) and the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FKI) attended a town hall session with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation Prof Ir Dr Rosalam Haji Sarbatly recently.

The session, held at the Eureka Room, brought together UMS Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) academics and researchers to discuss the university’s strategic direction, aspirations and latest initiatives in strengthening its research and innovation ecosystem.

Also present were FKAL Dean Associate Prof Dr Geoffrey Harvey Tanakinjal and FKI Deputy Dean for Postgraduate and Internationalisation Dr Nooralisa Mohd Tuah.

Prof Rosalam was earlier welcomed by UMSKAL Director Prof Dr Shamsul Bahari Shamsudin upon his arrival at the campus.

The programme also featured a briefing and dialogue session, during which FKAL and FKI lecturers raised various questions and received positive responses from Prof Rosalam.

The session served as a platform to strengthen communication and align strategic agendas towards developing a more dynamic and progressive research ecosystem.

It also reflected UMS’ continued commitment to driving excellence in research, innovation and commercialisation through active involvement of its academic community, in line with the university’s aspiration to remain a competitive higher education institution that contributes to society, industry and national development.

Prof Rosalam also shared various information and updates that benefited UMSKAL lecturers.
