LABUAN — A total of 250 Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL) students received basic necessities through the JAKMAS Food Bank Programme 2026, aimed at easing their cost-of-living burden.
The programme, organised by the Student Welfare Committee (JAKMAS) of Alpha and Beta Residential Colleges, was held to assist students in need while promoting care, togetherness and the spirit of mutual support among the campus community.
Residential College principal Ts. Hadzariah Ismail said the initiative was expected to help students meet their daily basic needs during their studies.
“May the JAKMAS Food Bank Programme continue to serve as a welfare platform that benefits students and strengthens the spirit of togetherness and care within the campus community,” she said.
Hadzariah, who represented UMSKAL director Prof Dr Shamsul Bahari Shamsudin, officiated the programme together with JAKMAS Food Bank Programme 2026 director Muhammad Amir Abdul Rahim on Sunday.
Also present was Maxim Malaysia director Mohd Hazwan Musley, representing the programme’s main sponsor.
The organisers expressed appreciation to Maxim Malaysia for its contribution and commitment in making the programme a success.
Besides supporting the food bank programme, Maxim Malaysia also contributed to the Alpha and Beta Residential Colleges Open Day Carnival 2.0, reflecting its continued commitment to supporting student welfare and development.
JAKMAS also thanked the university management, organising committee members, volunteers and all parties involved for their cooperation and commitment throughout the programme.
