KUALA KRAI — The Malaysian Nuclear Agency (Nuclear Malaysia) has adopted Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Chuchoh Puteri in Kuala Krai, Kelantan, under its MADANI Adopted School Programme 2026 to strengthen science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, particularly in nuclear-related fields.

The agency said the initiative aims to create a conducive learning environment that encourages scientific thinking, innovation and the development of knowledge-based skills among pupils.

Under the programme, the school has benefited from infrastructure improvements and various initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of pupils and teachers.

These include converting a classroom into a dedicated STEM hub known as Bilik Nuklear SePUTERI, providing three smart televisions to support teaching and learning, and organising digital and information and communications technology (ICT) training for teachers.

The programme also includes awareness activities addressing bullying and sexual misconduct among pupils, as well as the organisation of the Kuala Krai District STEM Carnival.

Nuclear Malaysia said the initiatives support the aspirations of the National Nuclear Technology Policy 2030 (DTNN 2030), particularly in developing highly skilled and competitive talent capable of meeting future challenges in the nuclear technology sector.

The agency also expressed hope that its collaboration with the school, Kelantan State Education Department, Kuala Krai District Education Office, Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) and local community would continue to ensure the programme’s long-term benefits.

It reaffirmed its commitment to supporting educational development and community well-being through the MADANI Adopted School Programme, in line with its mission to expand public access to the benefits of nuclear science and technology under its slogan, Nuclear for the People (N.U.R).
